Athlete Control
Our Athlete Control team handles athlete registration, athlete corralling, name plate crews, ensuring safety and monitoring in athlete warm up areas.
This is really the team that keeps everything running smooth, ensuring that both athletes and spectators can experience the event to its fullest.
Gear
The gear team is responsible for quick transitions on the competition stage. Whether it’s moving barbells, dumbbells, worms, or changing out lifting platforms, nothing is better than working with a team. Presentation is key.
Judges
We take an enormous amount of pride in the professionalism of our Judges Team. They do an outstanding job and making sure competition is fair, and the standards are met to our high expectations. In order to be on the judges team, you will have to show some experience in judging competitions before -completing the annual Judges Online Course or the Advanced Judges Course is a bonus. This is a limited access team.
Medical
Safety is a number one priority for us, and our Medical Staff of professionals is up to the task every single year. Whether it is treating athletes in between workouts, dealing with a tore up hand from the pull-up bar, or being ready for something more serious…our team is prepared.
We fill our ranks every year with all types of professionals including PTs, Trainers, Chiropractors, EMTs, etc. This is a limited access team.
Scoring
The scoring team is responsible for managing the leaderboard all weekend long. Responsibilities include the tabulation and input of scores across all divisions, organizing scoring tools, and coordinating judge flow. This is a limited access team.
Production
Setting up a competition of this size takes a solid crew that likes to build stuff. Whether it is setting up the rig, matting, platforms, or installing signage these people do it all. The production team is one of the hardest working groups of people every single year, but probably no better feeling than sitting back after a long weekend of competition and watching the fitness go down on the massive event you just helped build.
This team will also support all the facility needs. Tasks may include parking for athletes, volunteers, and spectators and making sure all facilities are stocked, working properly. Other assignments as needed.
community
This team is all about community and taking care of others. They work to provide a high-quality experience for the athletes, spectators, staff/volunteers, and partners. Some examples might be cleaning, stocking, parking, signage, giveaways, etc.
SWAT
“Service with a Task” or “Special Weapons and Tactics” - you decide. SWAT members are versatile and may be asked to do special-assignment tasks like jump in as a judge (with proper credential), lead a team/project, hang or move signage, bleachers, coolers, etc. These team members have a strong knowledge base of the events, community, facilities, etc.
Youth Corp
Engaging youth in volunteering is a core tenet of the Pit approach! Youth volunteers are dispatched to teams as needed and help with items such as registration, serve as runners for teams’ needs or help with gear (with proper training and experience). No heavy lifting or assignments with clear safety considerations.
